We started a research project today and students are hyped! It'll be a work in progress over the next 5 weeks.
Students will be researching a state of their choice. They chose their state today and took books out from the school and classroom library for research. Through their research, students will identify state details around geography, economy, history, and more. They'll locate key attractions and explain fun facts that make their state special.
To present their information students will design a PowerPoint presentation or poster. Here an example of a poster:

Another aspect of the project will be described after a chunk of research is done. This will include creating a 3D object to symbolize a detail of their state. We will talk about many different ideas and examples. As a sneak preview, here is an example of a Texas historical symbol:
Projects will be due TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9!
Presentations, which I hope many families will attend, will be upon return in March after our February intersession.
Let the researching and creations begin :)
