Multiplication Facts

We have a daily race against ourselves to solve as many multiplication facts as we can.  Our goal is to master 0-12 facts.  We have made it to our 4-facts and the level of students' achievement has dropped dramatically.  Without mastering multiplication facts, multiplication and division scenarios are much more difficult.

I reached out to our technology and math specialists for ideas to practice multiplication facts at home.  Below is the communication I had and the sites and resources recommended...

The best app for fact practice that I’ve found is QuickMath: http://www.getshinythings.com/quickmath  The problem is that it is only available for iOS devices; no android version.  Rocket Math also has an iOs app. Not sure of quality Android apps- here is an article reviewing possible apps: http://www.parents.com/kids/education/math-and-science/best-math-apps-for-kids/

Yes... I like QuickMath a lot, too.  If they need something web-based, this site is good: IXL Learning.  You can choose by grade level and subject, then by specific topic.  Here's the link to the 4th grade math page.  https://www.ixl.com/math/grade-4 I like that there is immediately feedback, and an explanation if you get the answer wrong.  However, I'm not sure how long you can use the site for free.  I see a $9.99 fee under the membership tab, but I was able to use the site without paying anything  Not sure if you get to use it for awhile and then it asks you to pay, or what.  I haven't had time to figure that out yet!

XtraMath is also a good website.  Parents can set up accounts for their kids.

I use www.fun4thebrain.com to get the multiplication quizzes and there are more quizzes, worksheets, activities, and games available for students' use.
