Tonight is the first day of SHARE homework!! Students need to read a story or have a story read to them and they are to visualize and draw an illustration of what they see in their minds during reading. Their illustration needs to be detailed with what they see, hear, and/or feel in the story. Their illustration needs to be colored with crayons or colored pencils in order to add to the details laid out in the story. We practiced this all last week, so examples of stellar work are in the beginning of their SHARE notebooks. This exercise is not to copy a picture in a story, but a personal illustration of what is uniquely seen in our own minds when we read!
At the top of their entry, students need to write today's date and title and author of their story.
Last Wednesday's (Sept. 9) post shows several examples of great work! I'll be doing the same visualizing and illustrating when I read my story tonight, too!
Happy reading and visualizing!
